First thing’s first – I MUST see it again. ASAP.

Overall, it is a great celebration of fashion, colors, trends setting, stunning shoes and lots of makeup. I recognized a lot of Halston in action, which fitted perfectly to the transforming wave in the fashion industry towards wearable fashion, a motion I respect very much.

It’s finally about summer and happiness, no more black-white-gray shades. It’s funny to read myself writing this, as I was all into these colors for so (too many, actually) many years. Thank you, Gos of colors and aging, for finally changing my mind. The movie was full with great reds, gold, bronze, orange, pink. green (lots and lots of greens) and white, of course, because no summer time can start without it.

I’ve found two major differences between the first Sex And The City and the second -

1. The budget. The second film’s fashion budget goes a little above 10 million dollars. Now, that’s a lot, and it shows alright!

2. The humor. The second movie is so so funny. I haven’t laughed like this in a long time! It’s pure health and also great for your complexion. I personally guarantee it! I wasn’t expecting it to be this funny, but it’s just hilarious, really :-D

What also stands out (hands down for this one, seriously) is the emphasis on interior design. All the apartments, hotels, and basically everywhere this movie was shot at was just beautifully designed.

Before I share some of my favorite looks taken from the movie here, I’d really like to say something about this movie’s reviews – people, lighten up please. This movie is not about politics nor being rich, poor, realistic, racist or any other serious matter as these. It’s a fun, happy movie, filled with great style, beauty and humor. If you treat it this way, hey – you might even enjoy it and have some fun, because that’s what it’s all about. Leave the top-of-the-world’s problems to another time, I personally guarantee you that it’ll all be there waiting, for a long time.

Here are some of my favorite looks taken from the movie:

and for some inspiration, I’d like to share some of Halston’s Fall 2010 collection, as it was a big deal shown in this movie (just in case you haven’t noticed :-) ). The message, in which I’ve been swearing for the last year, is  – forget black, simply because it doesn’t exist anymore. Gone, vanished, not legal to stick to anymore. Got it? :-)

There, I’m all done. I hope you liked it!

xoxo,

Hilla Ohayon.

Oh how lovely, I cannot wait to see this!
Thank you for calling out all the drama about reviewing this film. Isn’t it true that girls just want to have fun, and that’s really all that Sex & The City was ever really about?? (and the FASHION…and oh my it seems we have some envious looks on our hands here)
I love the looks you pulled from the film, and also the Halston collection, although I cannot imagine not doing black for fall. I am going to have a challenge letting go of my black blanket of fashionness I swathe myself with every year. These futuristic, chic, Halston dresses are to die for.
Can you believe how amazing Kim Cattrall looks? I’m inspired.
Thank you for this, I think I will have to keep coming back to study these looks…

Hey Sophie, thanks for dropping by! :-) I’m so glad you liked it. You are right and I totally agree with everything you just said – it’s fun and full of futuristic fashion. Oh, and Kim Cattrall just looks amazing. I guess she’s the only one of them four that ages treats well. In this movie, she just seems timeless.

Yours,

Hilla
