Gerard Darel in Israel

I was lucky enough to attend the new Gerard Darel boutique in Tel-Aviv last week, and they have a beautiful collection. I usually refer to clothes, but I couldn’t overlook the bags on this collection. As bags, handbags, clutches and you-name-it are a huge love of mine, I’ve picked my favorite items from it so I can post them here, check them out:

They’re basic, classic, and on top of it all – still very chic and useful. I loved it.

“Love, Chloé” ad campaign (video)

The new perfume ad campaign is up. Well, there’s nothing about it that I don’t like. She only wears the most perfect outfit, the music is fun, and it’s beautifully done. All there’s left to do now is to check out the perfume itself :-)

YSL Fall/Winter 2010/2011 Manifesto

The exclusive video accompanying the campaign was uploaded exclusively to style.com. The Manifesto will be out on the streets of Manhattan tomorrow and in many other fashion capitals around the world on Saturday.

New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 – first 2 days

Before it gets crazy and too hard to do, I want to collect my favorite looks from the first two days of shows, started September 9th. (You can see the full schedule of the shows here). The challenge: no more than 3 favorite looks from each collection. Let’s see if I can do this:

BCBG Max Azria – (link is to Bryanboy’s video of the finale of the show)

I mostly love the colors, very happy to see mustard yellow and coral (one of my favorite colors) and grey, and fun wavy silhouettes -

Costello Tagliapietra – definitely the silhouettes. These are the outfits I liked best. I have to admit it – I didn’t like most of the collection, just these 3:

Jason Wu – ( link is to Bryanboy’s video) No need to add words. He rocks this summer. It was very hard to pick 3 outfits and not just post the entire collection:

Julian Louie, Nicole Miller, Peter Som (link is a video from the show taken by Bryanboy), Ports 1961, Bensoni, Gregory Parkinson, Jen Kao, Kimberly Ovitz, Mandy Coon, Nicholas K, Rachel Comey, Richard Chai Love, - not my style this season, sorry. Didn’t feel like I have anything to write home about…

Rag & Bone – I can’t even imagine what happened there. Too weird for me. I didn’t get the silhouettes, the shapes, the prints, those straps… no no no. Huge disappointment.

Christian Siriano – most (if not all) of his designs are packed with last year’s trends, one-by-one. Yet, it’s not taken for granted that his collection is very wearable and chic, comfortable and has nice summer colors in it:

Ruffian – great collection guys! It was very hard to pick 3. I could pick 10, no sweat. Love the fabrics, the styling, the combinations, the colors – I pretty much loved it all:

Martin Scorsese directs a Chanel commercial

Famous film director Martin Scorsese directed a short ad  commercial for Chanel. Nope, you can hardly top that perfect combination, even if you think about it really really hard! Watch it, here:

Happy New Year | Shana Tova :-)

There’s nothing I’m looking forward to more than going out of the city tomorrow. It’s a long holiday weekend, and I really need to get some air that doesn’t come out of my laptop.

May this year be the breakthrough it seems already to be,

May it be sweet, and tendering,

Loving and easy,

Healthy and inspiring,

Interesting and always surprising.

BOTTEGA VENETA – ART OF COLLABORATION

H&M and Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz

My piece about this exciting collaboration is published today on Haaretz.com in English. Joy!

Here it is, for you too. Bellow you can find the link to the online version of it both in Hebrew and English:

Designer Alber Elbaz crafting exclusive fall collection for H&M

The collection, developed with Lanvin’s men’s clothing designer Lucas Ossendrijver, will come out before the Christmas holiday and will be unveiled on November 2 on H&M’s website.

By Hilla Ohayon

Alber Elbaz, an Israeli who is the artistic director at the influential Lanvin fashion house, has agreed to design a collection for the H&M clothing chain. H&M announced the new line in a press release on Thursday that put an end to rumors on the subject.

The collection, developed with Lanvin’s men’s clothing designer Lucas Ossendrijver, will come out before the Christmas holiday and will be unveiled on November 2 on H&M’s website.

To be called “Lanvin for H&M,” it will be launched at 200 flagship H&M stores worldwide – including Israel – on November 23, and three days earlier in the United States. H&M’s collaboration with Lanvin is expected to be a boon for the store chain, inasmuch as many consumers have high regard for Lanvin’s clothing but are put off by the price.

As a teaser, H&M posted several video clips about the new collection on the Internet site YouTube prior to the formal announcement, in which Elbaz is heard talking about the collection but was not identified. Many people were able to identify his voice and his design style nonetheless.

In English on Haaretz.com – here
