Tel Aviv Fashion Week, a set on Flickr.
If you plan to go through my way too many photos here, taken last week during Tel Aviv fashion week, I should say a few words about it before you click on this link. For what it’s worth, I made a mistake. I should have taken a lot more photos of my friends and colleagues at the press room rather than blurry runway shots. And it’s not the quality of my photos that bothers me (that too, but it’s not my point) but the story of the Tel Aviv fashion scene that you don’t get to see here, at all. There are over a 100 photos here, taken during each show, and I had to attend them all. Most of them were taken for Haaretz newspaper’s website, to which I reported on an hourly basis during this event.
This is the time to tell you that I don’t think that what you are about to see here is about Tel-Avivian fashion or at least does not present the way I or my friends dress or wish to dress, if at all. I will also tell you that I truly loved 3 shows this week. One of them even brought tears to my eyes, and another one made me purchase a dress straight off the runway. But that is it. The gap between the amazing production and venue, done by Motty Reif, and the collections presented, was much too big to overlook. Keyword for next time: editing, editing, editing. I should have taken more photos of my friends, simply because they dress up ten times better than what we saw on the runways. As simple as that.
And last words: I had so much fun. It’s hard work, long hours and a lot of stress, and still, so much fun!

It’s funny how I’ve been waiting for this month to start for quite a while now and now that it has, I’m pretty shocked that this year is coming to its end.
Big changes are coming my way and it’s way too soon to write about them here, but I can only say that I can’t wait for 2013 to finally start. I couldn’t be more ready for it.
This week has been quite eventful with collections previews, meetings, dinners with friends and, yeah, work. I started feeling my traveling need biting me a little bit too. Although I miss my friends in NY very much, and the city of course, I really want to go to Paris. I feel like I haven’t been there for too long, since March I think? I really miss it.
Here is the passing week in photos. You can find more in my Instagram at @HillaO.
I grabbed a couple of Noritamy rings and pilled them up on one finger. Here is the gorgeous result, I can’t have enough of those. You can check their amazing designs here at Nortiamy website:
This one was taken at one of my favorite places to eat in Tel Aviv, Hotel Montifiore. I think I eat there about 3-4 times a week now, I love it! These are a couple of deserts we shared, it was amazing!
And yeah I was so happy when Grace Coddington’s new memoir came in with a messenger at my place, I’ve been so curious to read it since I read about it. It’s here and it’s much thicker than I thought it would be:
What can I say, elevators can be boring. My accountant’s office is on the 34th floor, I had to goof around while I was on my way up:
I went to Maya Negri’s collection preview this week at the new boutique hotel in TLV, Brown Hotel. The lobby is beautiful, I loved the huge bookshelf, it’s amazing. Here’s me with Maya and her winter collection’s face-of.

The famous bookshelf –
One of the best things that happened to me was this – lunch with a very good friend, Shelly Gross. I’ve said it here before but I am never too lazy to say it again – besides countless great virtues Shelly has, she also writes the best fashion blog (written in Hebrew) in Israel. Hands down. It’s my favorite. If you read Hebrew, check it out here. Our time together is priceless and means so much to me. She is the best!
She took this photo of me at the restaurant. I regramed from her Instagram straight into mine, I loved it
Till next time,
xx

They say that November was energetically evil and brutal to all. It is December 1st, and I saw a beautiful full moon last night.
To add just a couple more cliches to it, I would say that good things happen to those who wait, and also that no dream will ever come true if you don’t work for it. Very hard too.
Hoping for a better month to end a pretty complicated and eventful year

Every time I have to make a big decision in my life, a personal or a professional one (for me it’s pretty much the same) – I go and read what others think and wrote before me. There aren’t so many of those I go to in times of confusion or uncertainty. Virginia Woolf is one of my “regulars”. I believe everything she says. And look what I just found? Just in time:
This soul, or life within us, by no means agrees with the life outside us. If one has the courage to ask her what she thinks, she is always saying the very opposite to what other people say.
Virginia Woolf
Perfect.

Yesterday was the first time in so long that I wore shorts. Really, it’s been more than 15 years since the last time I wore these kind of shorts –
It was such a beautiful afternoon at the beach –
I should do both more often. Shorts and the beach. Amazingly soothing and beautiful

Haha not mine, not yet
Last week I was so happy to attend my cousin’s wedding, it’s been a while since I’ve been to a wedding of someone close that I was really excited and happy for. I chose a black silk midi dress by Maya Negri, this is what it looked like on the hanger:
And I started getting ready with the basics – my favorite beauty products at the moment:
Caudalie Gentle cleanser, their perfect Beauty Elixir which I use instead of a toner, but not before a good scrub with Dermalogica Daily Exfoliator, that makes my skin soft and feeling, hmm, new, and finished with my all time favorite moisturizer, definitely the best one I ever had – Cream De La Mer. (click on the links for more info) -
After all that I got dressed and went on to the makeup stage, which, I have to admit it, is so much fun! I hardly ever spend more than 2 minutes a day on this, so I really tried to be patient this time and spend a little more, hoping for some nice results. I placed these products near the mirror:
Diorskin Forever foundation - great texture, super natural coverage;
Diorskin powder - I’ve been using this one for a while now. It’s the softest and makes my skin look silky;
Chanel blush - a favorite for sure. Super natural glow;
Givenchy Mascara - I am in love with this one. It’s amazing: makes great separated eyelashes and the best part is that it’s easy to remove.
Mac Fluidline eyeliner – I got to test this product only recently and I’m in love. I’ve never been good with eyeliner, I used to think it’s so hard to use! But this one was just made for me. It comes in a small cute jar, and it’s super easy to use. With the tiniest brush I have, I created the thinnest line you can imagine, super accurate and beautiful;
Mac Cream Colour Base – best highlighter I used so far. The texture is so soft and the result is so natural yet effective. I used it instead of eye shadows, it’s gorgeous;
And my favorite lipgloss line – Dior Addict lipgloss in red. It only looks super bold but I promise it’s not, it’s super slick and full of glow. Most importantly – it lasts on my lips for hours!
And my two latest Mac Cosmetics discoveries – the Fluidline and the highlighter -
Finishing up with Womanity perfume and body lotion by Thierry Mugler -
Makeup results are here!
Finishing with my traditional elevator pic from the way back and a picture of me and my favorite cousin, he took it with his iPhone at the wedding, it’s a funny one
