Anna Wintour on CBS News

Anna Wintour tends to say very little when she speaks to the public. It is very clear that she chooses her words very carefully and accurately, and there is simply no way to misinterperate her words. Never. I admire people who are so articulate when speaking. I wish I could be like that. My way is to write, that’s for sure.

Watch her talk to CBS News. Her work methods might be surprising to you:

Now seriously, don’t you feel a whole lot better now?

Anna Wintour supports gay marriage

It feels like it’s only a matter of time until this amazing woman will seriously go into politics, doesn’t she? I, personally, really hope that she will. She really doesn’t have to say much, and in her own way, Anna Wintour always chooses the shortest way to say what she has to say in the clearest and most coherent way possible.

Watch her here as she join the human rights campaign “New Yorkers For Marriage Equality”:

Topshop Spring-summer 2011 lookbook – Most of what I wore in the past year came from Topshop, for sure. I have to admit it that I’m not a big fan of the combinations offered in this lookbook, but I’m sure I’m going to love most of the pieces, separately, and that I will be able to play with them according to my own style. Here it is, take a look:

The Cut – This Week in Street Style – I’m a sucker for these slideshows, really. I enjoy each and every one of these slideshows. It gives me so much inspiration for what to wear and how’s I’d like to dress up. Seriously, the more of these – the merrier! Mulberry Spring 2011 Campaign Preview – I probably see tens of campaigns every month as a big part of my job as a fashion journalist. After a while, I realized that it takes much to impress me or to even stop scrolling down to the next item and take a good look. This one just made me do it. It’s beautiful: http://fashiongonerogue.com/mulberry-spring-2011-campaign-preview-lindsey-wixson-tim-walker/

Racked.com: Tomas Maier’s Eloquent Thoughts on the concept of “it” bags – He’s right, of course. He’s always right in my opinion, because he’s the brilliant man behind Bottega Veneta, so he must be right :-) http://racked.com/archives/2010/12/30/tomas-maiers-eloquent-thoughts.php

The September Issue

1

OK, the second you fashionistas get a chance to go and see this movie – RUN ! :-)

I went to see this movie last week, on a Friday night, in Manhattan, with my really-amazing boyfriend. Why is he amazing? Becasue besides him, there were 3 other men in the audience, and the rest were just girls and women. Yeah, it’s the perfect girlie movie, but he actually liked it and laughed in the funny parts of it. So, if you really want to, it’s no problem to drag your bf to see it with you. It’s just a great movie.

As a Vogue addict and a huge admirer, the movie finally allowed me to get an inner peak at the making-of the biggest issue ever: The September 2007 Vogue Issue. It looks so easy to just buy the issue and read it for a couple of hours without being able to even imagine how much work was put in to  the making of it. And that’s what it is – a lot of hard work. More than I could ever imagine.

3

Also, it lets you as close as you can get to the one and only, Anna Wintour. It can’t get any closer than this one. The closeups on her face are very close, I can now remember by heart every little detail of her face behind the Chanel sunglasses she never takes off, and to hear her voice which is usually never heard.

Above and before all, it’s a celebration of fashion and styling. The clothes are amazing, I was blown away in my armchair even if we’re still, let’s not forget, talking about two years ago’s collections. Through this movie, you get to see how those who are in position of making the call decide for us and pick everything we might like or dislike in the upcoming seasons. Anna Wintour actually chooses for me, and I can’t even know what was left outside and away from my own sense of fashion and style. You know what? I don’t mind her doing that. Especially because I trust her to do it right, and because she teases my curiosity and makes me go and do my own further research after I see her starters.

If you like fashion, and want to know what Vogue is all about – go see it. It’s a piece of pure fun.

I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did!

xoxoxo,

Hilla Ohayon.
