Tommy Ton street style photos – London fashion week: Thoughts

After the shows and the collections, what I mostly love exploring is Tommy Ton‘s photos for style.com. He has this wonderful talent of capturing the spirit and character of each fashion capital and it is always so beautifully served.
So – London – have you ever considered showing up to a fashion show holding a Dante book in your hand? Or: How many Celine coats are there and is everyone wearing the same one all the time?
Check out the London street style around fashion week’s shows here at Tommy Ton for style.com.

What do you think? Do you like the London scene?
I, obviously, not so much. Thank goodness for Emmanuelle Alt and her chic assistants for saving the week :)

Fall 2012 Bags – under $50

Fall is always the shortest season in the year. It’s a strange one when it comes to fashion, simply because it’s very hard to tell if it’s your favorite summer pieces that you need to bring into your fall wardrobe, or it is time to let go of the summer and bring in “hints” of your up and coming winer wardrobe. After a long thinking, I think the hardest dilemma comes in when it’s about bags. So – I’m here to help. I have collected the best fall 2012 bags for you, and made sure they are all under $50. Just so you can save up on those expensive wonderful winter leather bags for later. How considerate of me? :-D

Here are my selections. If you like anything and would like to purchase or read more about them, simply click on your favorite image -

Proenza Schouler PS1 – my one

Once upon a time, I was a major addict to bags. Of all kinds, really. I just couldn’t stop buying them. And then I grew up, and I learned – shoes are heaven, and I love shoes. And heaven. Since then, I buy shoes. I collect them, I love them, I pet them, they are my friends and lovers. I’m done dying for bags, and actually don’t like wearing them anymore at all. I have one I go to work with, a big straw one for weekend strolling around and the others are safely stored in my closets. When I go out, I put my credit card in my pocket, a key in my other pocket and take my phone in my hand. That’s it, I’m done with carrying bags for now.

It’s pretty rare that I bump into a daily go-to bag that I instantly have a relationship with. This Proenza Schouler one did it to me in a second, there were no questions about it:

One day, maybe. IF I really can’t find shoes, which I’m sure I can, always :-)

Acne AW12, YSL Cruise 2012, 3.1 Phillip Lim F12

As much as I love YSL, I’m such a sucker for Acne this year! And have to admit it that I’m a huge fan of Phillip Lim mens bags. The bigger the better. That said, I think I officially made it to the final step and survived my rehab from bags. It’s over. I don’t carry them anymore, anywhere but to work. It’s so much fun not to carry them at night for dinner or drinks! I can’t even explain. You should try it too!

It’s almost weekend, finally. Have a good one!

Rebecca Minkoff FW 2012 – Runway

It’s been a crazy week with work, traveling and everything else, and now – it’s time to add the shows on top of it all :) Yesterday I attended the Rebecca Minkoff fall/winter 2012 show at Lincoln Center. I’ve been following Rebecca for a couple of years now, and always happy to see how fast she is evolving, becoming bigger, designing more and never stops on her way up. From a small handbags collection, she is now designing a full RTW line, very chic, wearable and affordable. I was lucky enough to get such a great seat at the show yesterday, so I took pics with my iPhone 4S (it has such an amazing camera for a phone, really!) of every look! I hope you’ll like it, click to enlarge:

Here is the short video I took from the finale:

Fashion journalists presentation at Banker boutique

Hi!

I haven’t been around lately, I know, and I’m so sorry! I swear it’s all for good reasons though – I come wearing good news only.
After a long time of debating with myself, I’ve decided to do more of what I love best :-) You’re now reading the blog of the new accessories (shoes, bags, jewelry, sunglasses, scarves… you got it by now) journalist of Haaretz! So, besides my regular fashion news column, red carpet events coverage and fashion sales columns, I’m going to write a whole lot more :-)

These wonderful news made me very happy, and I started visiting shops and designers, guided by their PR people, and been trying to get the hang of what’s going on in the fashion world, in all these fun accessories and other things I have never reviewed before.

I started with Banker (unfortunately their site has been “under construction” for years now), and I loved the interior design of the 2 stories boutique and, on top of all, the shoes and jewelry they import. Here are some of the pics I took there:

Summer shopping on Farfetch.com :-)

Farfetch.com logo

Ach, the joy of discovering a new beautiful fashion e-commerce site that sells my favorite designers and has a gorgeous UI and design is a big pleasure to me :-) Especially when it’s late at night, I’m done working and already in bed with my iPad. That is definitely the best time to catch my attention!

Farfetch.com offers an easy-to-shop experience, designed as a fast moving magazine that keeps you focused and want to explore more and more. It is London based, and offers fashion for sale from all the big yet indie designers, like Isabel Marant, Sylvia Toledano, Marc Jacobs and more.

As a girl, not to girly but still – a girl, my summer addictions that are already starting to wake up now, a little before spring time  – are designer handbags and dresses. I just can’t get enough of those and honestly believe that you can’t have too many summer dresses or handbags. The variety of designer handbags on farfetch.com is enormous, and it’s really hard to choose because they are all so pretty. Now, who can choose between Proenza Schouler, Mulberry, Balenciaga, Givenchy and more? Not me, that’s for sure.

Here are just a few examples:

As for the designers dresses on farfetch.com, I think that it would be so easy to renew my entire summer wardrobe just by clicking and clicking! It’s endless and so pretty. My favorite dresses there are definitely coming from Diane Von Furstenberg, Isabel Marant and Carven, which are always so feminine and compliments every woman’s figure, like these for example:

Chanel Mademoiselle Campaign – Blake Lively by Karl Lagerfeld

I can really try, but I can’t ignore it or postpone it much longer. Blake Lively is gorgeous, as always, and even more in Chanel. The bags on the new Chanel Mademoiselle collection are amazing. It’s really hard to choose this time. The campaign is super elegant, very luxurious and above all – has the perfect Chanel chic.
