Fashion journalists presentation at Banker boutique

Hi!

I haven’t been around lately, I know, and I’m so sorry! I swear it’s all for good reasons though – I come wearing good news only.
After a long time of debating with myself, I’ve decided to do more of what I love best :-) You’re now reading the blog of the new accessories (shoes, bags, jewelry, sunglasses, scarves… you got it by now) journalist of Haaretz! So, besides my regular fashion news column, red carpet events coverage and fashion sales columns, I’m going to write a whole lot more :-)

These wonderful news made me very happy, and I started visiting shops and designers, guided by their PR people, and been trying to get the hang of what’s going on in the fashion world, in all these fun accessories and other things I have never reviewed before.

I started with Banker (unfortunately their site has been “under construction” for years now), and I loved the interior design of the 2 stories boutique and, on top of all, the shoes and jewelry they import. Here are some of the pics I took there:

Summer shopping on Farfetch.com :-)

Farfetch.com logo

Ach, the joy of discovering a new beautiful fashion e-commerce site that sells my favorite designers and has a gorgeous UI and design is a big pleasure to me :-) Especially when it’s late at night, I’m done working and already in bed with my iPad. That is definitely the best time to catch my attention!

Farfetch.com offers an easy-to-shop experience, designed as a fast moving magazine that keeps you focused and want to explore more and more. It is London based, and offers fashion for sale from all the big yet indie designers, like Isabel Marant, Sylvia Toledano, Marc Jacobs and more.

As a girl, not to girly but still – a girl, my summer addictions that are already starting to wake up now, a little before spring time  – are designer handbags and dresses. I just can’t get enough of those and honestly believe that you can’t have too many summer dresses or handbags. The variety of designer handbags on farfetch.com is enormous, and it’s really hard to choose because they are all so pretty. Now, who can choose between Proenza Schouler, Mulberry, Balenciaga, Givenchy and more? Not me, that’s for sure.

Here are just a few examples:

As for the designers dresses on farfetch.com, I think that it would be so easy to renew my entire summer wardrobe just by clicking and clicking! It’s endless and so pretty. My favorite dresses there are definitely coming from Diane Von Furstenberg, Isabel Marant and Carven, which are always so feminine and compliments every woman’s figure, like these for example:

So on your next online fashion shopping spree, I highly recommend checking out farfetch.com‘s gorgeous range. You’re in for a lot of fun!

Happy New Year | Shana Tova :-)

There’s nothing I’m looking forward to more than going out of the city tomorrow. It’s a long holiday weekend, and I really need to get some air that doesn’t come out of my laptop.

May this year be the breakthrough it seems already to be,

May it be sweet, and tendering,

Loving and easy,

Healthy and inspiring,

Interesting and always surprising.

Living in Fashion

I just took these pics today when I somehow found out that these are the things I do every day! I pack two bags: 1 handbag, 1 laptop bag, go out to my favorite cafe to work, get a big coffee and go over my favorite fashion blogs and websites. Here are a few of my everyday to-do’s.

You can always trust that life in fashion will be beautiful and interesting :-)

Sex and the City II – high fashion, great laugh

First thing’s first – I MUST see it again. ASAP.

Overall, it is a great celebration of fashion, colors, trends setting, stunning shoes and lots of makeup. I recognized a lot of Halston in action, which fitted perfectly to the transforming wave in the fashion industry towards wearable fashion, a motion I respect very much.

It’s finally about summer and happiness, no more black-white-gray shades. It’s funny to read myself writing this, as I was all into these colors for so (too many, actually) many years. Thank you, Gos of colors and aging, for finally changing my mind. The movie was full with great reds, gold, bronze, orange, pink. green (lots and lots of greens) and white, of course, because no summer time can start without it.

I’ve found two major differences between the first Sex And The City and the second -

1. The budget. The second film’s fashion budget goes a little above 10 million dollars. Now, that’s a lot, and it shows alright!

2. The humor. The second movie is so so funny. I haven’t laughed like this in a long time! It’s pure health and also great for your complexion. I personally guarantee it! I wasn’t expecting it to be this funny, but it’s just hilarious, really :-D

What also stands out (hands down for this one, seriously) is the emphasis on interior design. All the apartments, hotels, and basically everywhere this movie was shot at was just beautifully designed.

Before I share some of my favorite looks taken from the movie here, I’d really like to say something about this movie’s reviews – people, lighten up please. This movie is not about politics nor being rich, poor, realistic, racist or any other serious matter as these. It’s a fun, happy movie, filled with great style, beauty and humor. If you treat it this way, hey – you might even enjoy it and have some fun, because that’s what it’s all about. Leave the top-of-the-world’s problems to another time, I personally guarantee you that it’ll all be there waiting, for a long time.

Here are some of my favorite looks taken from the movie:

and for some inspiration, I’d like to share some of Halston’s Fall 2010 collection, as it was a big deal shown in this movie (just in case you haven’t noticed :-) ). The message, in which I’ve been swearing for the last year, is  – forget black, simply because it doesn’t exist anymore. Gone, vanished, not legal to stick to anymore. Got it? :-)

There, I’m all done. I hope you liked it!

Hilla Ohayon.

Timeless chic in pics

This is my idea of taking a break from work – having this here.

It was always and forever will be – all about Chanel.

My weekend shopping

Well, there’s nothing like great shopping spree with my girlfriends, with quality coffee break and major catching up. Especially when it’s semi-summer here in TLV, even in the middle of February :-)
As I also write the sales column now (see previous posts), I’m well aware of all the really interesting sales around town. I took my friends to a private show room yesterday, packed with vintage designers items, which were all on 15% discount! It doesn’t sound like much, but when you buy Issey Miake, Chanel and Dior, all new and vintage, it’s a lot!
I was really biting my tongue there, trying not to over spend or just treat the place as a museum ;-) but couldn’t resist a gorgeous vintage Eli Tahari belt. It was super expensive, but it’s so pretty, I just couldn’t resist myself. I even tried to imagine how my weekend will look if I give it up, and just couldn’t face the upcoming consequences – I saw one unhappy girl there – so I bought it. Here it is:

Eli Tahari vintage belt
My friends got wonderful dresses and a bag, and then we were on our way for a little breakfast. A short while after zipping and chatting, one of my friends had to leave, and I came up with the idea of “let’s just walk nearby and see what’s around”, so we both did, knowing this walkabout will probably have its price tags soon, in plural of course.
We “somehow” got to a boutique I always buy in, which I knew my friend would love, as we share a very similar style. 2 beautiful tops, 1 dress and earrings later for me, and a pile of gorgeous stuff for her, we swore to get together over coffee next time or we’ll be haunted by our bank managers for good :-D
Here’s what I got there:

blue sateen top

Asymmetric white T with black printing

dotted dark orange tunic/dress

And earrings -

Great shopping, ha? Though I got to admit it – there’s nothing like that belt. It’s amazing.

Happy!

Dreaming about Chanel 2.55

I know, it’s shallow, it’s terrible and it’s sad. But it’s all I want these days, and I’m kind of tired of Googling it all the time.

I just can’t stop thinking about it. A Chanel 2.55.

Unlike all other items, I always imagine how I wear them in as many combinations as possible, but this time  I don’t even have it (own it, I want to own it) and I already know it’ll fit perfectly with my entire wardrobe! I just have to have it. Have to!

The sad truth is, that it’s far too expensive for a handbag. OR for anything else, in a matter of fact.

I guess it’s time for a very close look on ebay for now till the rest of my life :-D

Here are a few pictures of my dream. Just sharing, it might take the passion down a bit (I so wish for that to happen!):

Maybe dreams come true after you blog about them, who knows…

xoxo,

Hilla Ohayon.

p.s. the lovely Michal Ronel sent me this video today. It’s so addictive and exciting… Here it is for all of you, Chanel lovers:
