It broke a new attendance record for a fashion installation – that’s more than half a million visitors at the Met museum! How huge is that? If only Lee was here to see this… I’m sure he’d be happy. RIP :-(

Fashion journalists presentation at Banker boutique

Hi!

I haven’t been around lately, I know, and I’m so sorry! I swear it’s all for good reasons though – I come wearing good news only.
After a long time of debating with myself, I’ve decided to do more of what I love best :-) You’re now reading the blog of the new accessories (shoes, bags, jewelry, sunglasses, scarves… you got it by now) journalist of Haaretz! So, besides my regular fashion news column, red carpet events coverage and fashion sales columns, I’m going to write a whole lot more :-)

These wonderful news made me very happy, and I started visiting shops and designers, guided by their PR people, and been trying to get the hang of what’s going on in the fashion world, in all these fun accessories and other things I have never reviewed before.

I started with Banker (unfortunately their site has been “under construction” for years now), and I loved the interior design of the 2 stories boutique and, on top of all, the shoes and jewelry they import. Here are some of the pics I took there:

Happy New Year | Shana Tova :-)

There’s nothing I’m looking forward to more than going out of the city tomorrow. It’s a long holiday weekend, and I really need to get some air that doesn’t come out of my laptop.

May this year be the breakthrough it seems already to be,

May it be sweet, and tendering,

Loving and easy,

Healthy and inspiring,

Interesting and always surprising.

Living in Fashion

I just took these pics today when I somehow found out that these are the things I do every day! I pack two bags: 1 handbag, 1 laptop bag, go out to my favorite cafe to work, get a big coffee and go over my favorite fashion blogs and websites. Here are a few of my everyday to-do’s.

You can always trust that life in fashion will be beautiful and interesting :-)

Mulberry | Bottega Veneta Fall/Winter 2010/2011 Campaigns

By now, I can say it loud and clear – I have no passion for British or Italian designers. It’s weird, I know, but that’s just the way it is – I have never felt out of air watching Cavalli, Gucci, Burberry or even Fendi. Nothing.

It’s just that -

Bottega Veneta always takes my breath away. It’s the only Italian brand I’m sure I’d love to wear their everything. Weather I see their adds on magazines or walk by their store on 5th avenue – I always feel the same – breathless -

Same goes with Mulberry, but I have to admit it – it’s a new thing. I used to be as indifferent about them as I am towards Dolce & Gabbana. I just saw their Fall campaign and understood – they are breathtaking too -

P.S.

The last photo was taken by my friend Shelly Gross, who is a very talented fashion blogger (in Hebrew) and a fashion journalist. This picture appeared in her blog, and was taken at a fashion show which was held two weeks ago in Tel-Aviv. The legs belong to me and to another friend who is a fashion journalist, Aviv Bertele. I think it’s a very funny picture :-D

FCUK – French Connection Fall/Winter 2010

I was invited to FCUK lunch and presentation for press today. It was pretty special. It was held at a private room of a nice restaurant, and the presentation was really pleasant. For just one hour, it was really nice to forget that it’s a Monday and it’s 3pm, practically the most stressful part of the week. I have always loved French Connection’s designs and chic, and of course, I always love meeting my fashion journalists friends. Along the way, I’ve made some great friends in that field, and we inspire and help each other a lot. That’s fun. I love my jobs. All of them :-)

Sex and the City II – high fashion, great laugh

First thing’s first – I MUST see it again. ASAP.

Overall, it is a great celebration of fashion, colors, trends setting, stunning shoes and lots of makeup. I recognized a lot of Halston in action, which fitted perfectly to the transforming wave in the fashion industry towards wearable fashion, a motion I respect very much.

It’s finally about summer and happiness, no more black-white-gray shades. It’s funny to read myself writing this, as I was all into these colors for so (too many, actually) many years. Thank you, Gos of colors and aging, for finally changing my mind. The movie was full with great reds, gold, bronze, orange, pink. green (lots and lots of greens) and white, of course, because no summer time can start without it.

I’ve found two major differences between the first Sex And The City and the second -

1. The budget. The second film’s fashion budget goes a little above 10 million dollars. Now, that’s a lot, and it shows alright!

2. The humor. The second movie is so so funny. I haven’t laughed like this in a long time! It’s pure health and also great for your complexion. I personally guarantee it! I wasn’t expecting it to be this funny, but it’s just hilarious, really :-D

What also stands out (hands down for this one, seriously) is the emphasis on interior design. All the apartments, hotels, and basically everywhere this movie was shot at was just beautifully designed.

Before I share some of my favorite looks taken from the movie here, I’d really like to say something about this movie’s reviews – people, lighten up please. This movie is not about politics nor being rich, poor, realistic, racist or any other serious matter as these. It’s a fun, happy movie, filled with great style, beauty and humor. If you treat it this way, hey – you might even enjoy it and have some fun, because that’s what it’s all about. Leave the top-of-the-world’s problems to another time, I personally guarantee you that it’ll all be there waiting, for a long time.

Here are some of my favorite looks taken from the movie:

and for some inspiration, I’d like to share some of Halston’s Fall 2010 collection, as it was a big deal shown in this movie (just in case you haven’t noticed :-) ). The message, in which I’ve been swearing for the last year, isĀ  – forget black, simply because it doesn’t exist anymore. Gone, vanished, not legal to stick to anymore. Got it? :-)

There, I’m all done. I hope you liked it!

My first long article for Haaretz

I think this one’s worth the link – it’s my first 1,000 words piece in Haaretz about the dresses seen on the red carpet in Cannes, almost two weeks ago (in Hebrew):

And for my love to Alexander McQueen – here’s Cate Blanchett wearing his spectacular dress:

Best for last – I’ll be watching Sex and The City II tonight at the journalist pre-premier. I promise to write about it straight after! So stay tuned, I’m back blogging :-)
