Gucci City Collection

Gucci has a new mini collection of 3 bags and one really cool pair of sneakers, called City Collection. It looks very much unlike Gucci, which makes it very interesting by itself. The designs match the spring vibe that is now up in the air, it just looks like a really fun mini collection. Here is what Gucci has to say about it, the press release just arrived to my inbox this morning:

Gucci is pleased to introduce the City Collection, a sport-inspired line of accessories designed by Creative Director Frida Giannini for today’s smart and active cosmopolitans.

The collection includes a colorful series of bags with a matching iPad case, all featuring the unmistakable London skyline.  Details such as the multicolored leather trim and the leather ID tag encompass both function and fashion, true to the refined yet dynamic aesthetic of this exclusive project.

A new expression of the luxurious on-the-go style for which the House is known, the City Collection also features a comfortable, colorful high-top sneaker for men, women and children, designed in white leather and carrying the London skyline that appears on the other accessories.

A special product within this collection is the new G-Timeless Sport watch, with a bright white dial displaying signature Gucci detailing such as the Diamantissima pattern and the ‘G-Frame’ shadow. In addition, a green-red-green web stripe appears at 3 o’clock, together with a date counter and the ‘City’ script at 12 o’clock. The black PVD 44 mm case, which on the back features the London skyline,  has a black and white rotating bezel as well as a woven strap.

Completing the line fashionable white sunglasses with blue-red-blue shaded lenses and decorated with the image of the London skyline on the right internal temple. A reinterpretation of the timeless aviator, the style boasts unexpected details for a contemporary statement.

The new collection not only embodies the lifestyle of a lively, urban generation but also symbolizes Gucci’s duality of tradition and innovation.

The City Collection will be available from May at select Gucci boutiques in Europe, including Milan, Rome, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Madrid and Barcelona.

Here are the designs, how cool are they?

Thank you, Gucci PR, for the images and the press release.

Tom Ford Womenswear Fall/Winter 2012/13 Collection

You know I think Tom Ford is a genius. Everything he does and actually everything about him is magic. His Fall/Winter 2012/13 collection is up on a new video out today. Just saw it, and there is absolutely nothing there that I wouldn’t wear, head to toe: The sunglasses, the dresses, the coats, the shoes – everything. Watch it here:

MAC Cosmetics Trends spring/summer 2012 event

I was invited to the MAC Cosmetics trends event last week, and it was such a good reminder of how fabulous the world of makeup is. I hardly ever wear more than the basics, but I was always fascinated with what makeup can do to your face and to your entire look.

Trends for the next hot season are very colorful, lots of neon with almost African motives, crazy turquoise lips and neon pink cheeks. After I show you pictures from the event, I also attach an ensamble of photos taken at the last round of fashion weeks at the shows, all are models who wore makeup done by MAC’s makeup artists:

Previous to the trends event,  I received this gorgeous brochure, explaining what will be presented. Everything about MAC is so chic and elegant, their presentations and packages especially. It looked like this:

Thank you MAC Cosmetics Israel for inviting me to your fun and inspiring event, it was fun!

A new batch of Little Black Dresses

I can’t have enough of those. I’m serious, I wear them all again and again. They are the safest items in my closet. I gathered a few looks here, just for fun. If you wish to buy any of the items, just click on the images or the links!

This one is just $80 and it’s from Asos. I’m pretty sure anyone can pull  this one off, it’s a classic!

This one is even cheaper, only $31, and it is perfect for spring time, it’s pretty covered:

I’d break the black seriousness with a neon piece, maybe like this orange clutch from Asos? It’s $62 and can be matched to so many summer outfits, looks like a win-win:

And my favorite – this 50s midi black dress. It is perfect. I really like it, it looks great both for daytime and evening. It is also good for a huge dinner, there is a lot of space to fill in ;-)

Now let’s get to the yummy part. The shoes. Let’s face it, it’s never about the dress. It’s always about the shoes. My options this week include Roger Vivier, Christian Louboutin, and one neon surprise from Carven:

Two black options – Loubies and Viviers:

One cage sandals from Louboutin that will match any skinny jeans I have too:

And last neon option are this fabulous yellow pumps by Carven:

That is it for playing shopping today! Until later -

At work

What is up with me and my phone? So what my friends say is true, I guess – I just can’t let it go! These were taken at Accessorize London fashion show for spring/summer 2012:

I took the sitting-down pictures. My texting ones were taken by one of my best friends, Karin Bar, who is the most talented photographer I know and such an amazing friend. You can see her stunning work here, here and also, yeah, here.

Converse lovin

I had to post these gorgeous Converse from LuisaViaRoma.com, just because my friend Hanan is dying to have them and I’m sure they are limited edition or something. Aren’t they cool?

Enjoy them, H.!

Brunch at Delicatessen

This one is all about food :-) I’ve been waiting to check out the new place in town, Delicatessen, for more than two weeks now. When my friends invited me to join them fro brunch this weekend, I was really excited to go there, finally. The food was really nice, and we were really lucky with the weather too – it started with a really cold, grey and rainy morning, but the sun came out as soon as we were sitted at our table. It was such a nice brunch!

This is one of the corners of the deli downstairs. Vegetables and fruits look so good there, don’t they? I almost bought everything!

This is the pastry corner. Dangerous! Everything looks so delicious.

This is the flowers corner right by the entrance. It’s beautiful and so welcoming. I should start buying flowers again for my apartment, it’s such a joy to have them around.

This is definitely my favorite corner of the deli. So many little drawers full of little jars of jams and pastes.

We went for the basic breakfast and the double breakfast, just to make sure we don’t miss anything. It was really nice. I have to admit – I had better ones before. It was quite simple, and pastries can only be better. Scrambled eggs were really simple, there were very little chopped vegetables as a salad and the cheese wasn’t special. Next time, and there will be a next time, I should try one of the special dishes. There will be a second time as I really liked the place, the service was impecable and it has a great vibe.

Ok gotta run now,

Thursday to Thusday: my week

It’s been a really intense week, but also very exciting. We are finally starting to work on the next fashion conference here in Israel, which will be the second, and there is so much to so and plan! I can only tell you this for now – it’s going to be so amazing! We set down to work on the schedule this week. I was early at the producer’s office:

The meeting went really well, and after stressing out over the list of things we need to do, I started to get really excited too. I hopped on another cab and rushed to the office, not before I got some coffee.

As you can see, I’ve been really tired lately. My face can’t lie! It’s all there. The day after ended with a really cool event I will write about a bit later, presenting spring/summer 2012 makeup trends by MAC Cosmetics. When it ended, I was waiting for the car to come and take me home, and I saw these great sandals. I think they are Louboutins but not sure.

It was really hard to take good photos at the makeup event, as I was sitting in the back (being late has its price. always!) and the screens are not very photogenic. But I did love the colors and shades, and the hair! Oh my it was a neon party all around.

I was home by 10pm. Really long day! The morning after started even earlier, with a press preview for Mango spring/summer 2012, which I blogged about here. It was really nice, actually. I will always have love towards Mango, I basically grew up inside their sweaters in the 90s. I got this straw bag from the new collection:

My Saturday was the most perfect day ever. I went outside of the city, all the way in the nature with friends. It was a gorgeous sunny day. We had a nice fire outside, great food and lots of laughs. I even found a local dog to play with, she was so friendly and spoiled, a true hugger.

Two more days of work and off to the weekend. This is me in the car on the way to the office.

Top is by Zara, sunglasses are Botega Venetta, lipgloss is Chanel.

After a long day at the office, I was heading to see Manaolo Blahnik’s new collection at 7:30pm. It was beautiful! Very colorful, fun and very feminine. No brutal wedges, just gentle stilettos. Beautiful.

And that was  wrap! Grabbed another green tea on my way back home and went through my Flipboard while stuck in traffic. I found an amazing shot of Patti Smith, I just had to have it:

And… that’s a wrap, all ready to start the weekend! I was so exhausted by the last day of the work week, I just had to wear something super cosy and warm. I chose Maya Negri’s coat-dress in light Beige. It’s made of the softest fabric I’ve ever touched, it’s like your softest favorite sweatshirt, just very elegant and chic. Sunglasses are Botega Venetta. Have a great weekend!

Chanel

There is something you just can’t beat with the way Chanel N°5 is presented in the media along the years. It has always been super simple, slick, elegant and easy. It basically means the most important thing you’d want when marketing a new product: it is not about the add, the campaign, the video, the model, whatever. Its about the product, and you are 100% certain that it is the best out there, so there’s really no need to market it in a very complicated way. It is perfect, just as it is. Like this new video for the famous perfume:

Also, today I got the chance to watch the secrets of the little black jacket by Chanel. On video. I was chatting with my friend Eyal this morning after a meeting we had about this exactly – the world of fashion, and blogging mostly, goes towards video as we speak. Actually, it runs! In what other year would we be able to watch the making of a black Chanel jacket? This is just wonderful, nothing is a secret anymore, and you don’t need to imagine anything anymore as it’s filmed and online in seconds. Watch the magic here:

I mean, it’s something to think about. I will always love great fashion photography, of course, but I think I’m growing a new love to video as well. I need to think about it a little more.
