WWD Magic here I come! But first thing’s first –

I will be landing and trying really hard not to go down on my knees kissing the frozen ground of NYC next Tuesday, running straight over to the tents of Lincoln Center for Fashion Week :-) I will accompany the most wonderful Ruth W. Staiman of The Fashion Office (whom, yes, I’ve “met” through Twitter! So yeah, social networking can do great things to your career, once you go social ;-) ) to the shows, and will be staying in the holy city for 4 days. Too short, I know…

Early in the am of the 13th I’m off to Vegas for the WWD Magic event, as I was chosen by Teen Vogue to participate in their fashion bloggers panels and events during WWD Magic. I will participate in the opening panel, together with famous bloggers like Jane Alridge (Sea Of Shoes), Erin Weiner and Erica Domesek (PS – I Made This).  You can see a small peek at our schedule here (it’s very small. Trust me, it’s much longer than this one) as it was published on IT News Online:

WWD Magic Fashion Bloggers schedule

The entire event is  organized by the most wonderful Macala Wright Lee, who is been doing such a great job organizing this huge event. You can read more about Macala here. In a nutshell, she’s a wonderful woman, and -  she’s writing for Mashable and is the founder of FasionablyMarketing.me.

If you’re a true fashion addict and fanatic, you probably have a subscription to WWD, and can read the full article about the event here :-)

So starting next Tuesday, if you wish to follow my intense couple of weeks in the world of high fashion, you should totally follow my Tumblr here: http://hillao.tumblr.com/ and my twitter, here: @HillaO , as I’ll be reporting very often :-)

Stay tuned,

xoxo,

New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 – first 2 days

Before it gets crazy and too hard to do, I want to collect my favorite looks from the first two days of shows, started September 9th. (You can see the full schedule of the shows here). The challenge: no more than 3 favorite looks from each collection. Let’s see if I can do this:

BCBG Max Azria – (link is to Bryanboy’s video of the finale of the show)

I mostly love the colors, very happy to see mustard yellow and coral (one of my favorite colors) and grey, and fun wavy silhouettes -

Costello Tagliapietra – definitely the silhouettes. These are the outfits I liked best. I have to admit it – I didn’t like most of the collection, just these 3:

Jason Wu – ( link is to Bryanboy’s video) No need to add words. He rocks this summer. It was very hard to pick 3 outfits and not just post the entire collection:

Julian Louie, Nicole Miller, Peter Som (link is a video from the show taken by Bryanboy), Ports 1961, Bensoni, Gregory Parkinson, Jen Kao, Kimberly Ovitz, Mandy Coon, Nicholas K, Rachel Comey, Richard Chai Love, - not my style this season, sorry. Didn’t feel like I have anything to write home about…

Rag & Bone – I can’t even imagine what happened there. Too weird for me. I didn’t get the silhouettes, the shapes, the prints, those straps… no no no. Huge disappointment.

Christian Siriano – most (if not all) of his designs are packed with last year’s trends, one-by-one. Yet, it’s not taken for granted that his collection is very wearable and chic, comfortable and has nice summer colors in it:

Cushnie et Ochs – almost classic, has a nice twist to some looks:

Lyn Devon – I loved it. Very simple, classic and great black & white pieces. I especially like the first Black & white sweater, it’s perfect:

Ruffian – great collection guys! It was very hard to pick 3. I could pick 10, no sweat. Love the fabrics, the styling, the combinations, the colors – I pretty much loved it all:
