February’s inspiration folder

February has been a very weird month for me. I was down with a bad Pneumonia for the most of it (but all better now, thanks) and before I had the chance to get back on my feet I find that it’s almost over. Being sick is bad, by all means, but I have to admit that I finally had the time to watch all the shows of fashion weeks on my iPad in bed, and also to read a lot and watch TV! Which I haven’t done in such a long time. And now it’s back to work, full on. I hope you enjoy the few photos I loved and saved for this post:

Tommy Ton street style photos – London fashion week: Thoughts

After the shows and the collections, what I mostly love exploring is Tommy Ton‘s photos for style.com. He has this wonderful talent of capturing the spirit and character of each fashion capital and it is always so beautifully served.
So – London – have you ever considered showing up to a fashion show holding a Dante book in your hand? Or: How many Celine coats are there and is everyone wearing the same one all the time?
Check out the London street style around fashion week’s shows here at Tommy Ton for style.com.

What do you think? Do you like the London scene?
I, obviously, not so much. Thank goodness for Emmanuelle Alt and her chic assistants for saving the week :)

Vanessa Paradis for H&M Conscious Collection

A blast from the past: Vanessa Paradis was tapped for H&M new Conscious collection.

This piece of news brings up beautiful memories of the 14 years old French singer from the Eurovision competition back in the 80s, and then some super rock ‘n roll shots of her back in the days when she was Johnny Depp’s number one girl. Hmm.

It’s still her, that’s for sure. you can’t mistake her for anyone else, she is her own trademark. Yet, she looks very different to me, and I don’t mean the gazillion of years that had passed since her Johnny Depp years. She is just… different. As for the campaign, I absolutely prefer the more distant shots. The closeups somehow managed to dismiss so much of her natural beauty.

What do you think about the campaign?

The real problem with Celine new ugliest sandals

…Is that they are so ugly that I think I’m in love with them and would live in them the entire summer :-D

I mean, take a good look. And then take another one. I know, it’s really hard at first sight. How was your second and third look? Am I crazy or did you fall in love with them too?

Repetto RTW

Confession: I wore ballerina flats for years and years. I didn’t mind the brand, just the shape, quality and color of course. A few years back I was introduced to Repetto, which makes the most perfect ballerina flats, and easily got addicted to them. I still wear them, even my oldest pairs, and I think that time only makes them look better and better, so I fall in love with them even more. When I wear them, it’s quite a personal experience I have with myself – they remind me so much of my years as a ballet dancer, and make me feel very much like myself. It’s true love, really.

I recently heard that Repetto are starting a ready-to-wear line. These kind of news easily interpret themselves in my head to “I want and I don’t even need to see it first.”

Then I went online to see some images and yes, what a surprise, I still want it all.

This super French chic video tells it all. This collections is the sweetest but not too sticky, stylish but not too trendy, and most comfortable and simple collection out there at the moment. You can see more looks here at Repetto website.

MAC Cosmetics Trends spring/summer 2012 event

I was invited to the MAC Cosmetics trends event last week, and it was such a good reminder of how fabulous the world of makeup is. I hardly ever wear more than the basics, but I was always fascinated with what makeup can do to your face and to your entire look.

Trends for the next hot season are very colorful, lots of neon with almost African motives, crazy turquoise lips and neon pink cheeks. After I show you pictures from the event, I also attach an ensamble of photos taken at the last round of fashion weeks at the shows, all are models who wore makeup done by MAC’s makeup artists:

Previous to the trends event,  I received this gorgeous brochure, explaining what will be presented. Everything about MAC is so chic and elegant, their presentations and packages especially. It looked like this:

Thank you MAC Cosmetics Israel for inviting me to your fun and inspiring event, it was fun!

Diane Von Furstenberg Fall Campaign Video

I’m loving the return of the nineties. It’s definitely my favorite decade in fashion at the moment. It was when the world of fashion discovered the beauty of minimalism, of simplicity and of clean prints, silhouettes and fabrics.

DVF was always too colorful and happy for me. This video shows that we are now in peace and that this winter will be wonderful, no matter how you choose to look at it :-)
